The benefits of red wine


Here’s to your weight loss!  Overweight Americans can celebrate to health and happiness due to a secret solution.  It seems that acids in vineyard grapes can delay the growth of fat cells or the development of new ones.

The studies show that grapes are something we need to add to our diet. Resveratrol is found in wine and is very beneficial for the heart while improving physical performance and muscle strength.  These are limited benefits so cardio exercise is still the best choice for a heart healthy life! Resveratrol has also been linked to longevity.

Quercetin is another antioxidant found in red wine that works against cancer cells especially in colon cancer. It causes cancer cells to die off.  While not a cure it is an aid to further assist you in recovery according to the American Cancer Society.

While there are many types of drinks available, few offer the promise of such benefits as drinking in wine.  On the other side there are risks involved.  A word of advice is to keep in moderation.  Wine is not an instant cure all that can heal overnight.  Over use has side effects including alcohol abuse.

A word of advice though, consider buying the better wines.  It has been found that the cheaper wines have carcinogens in the wine due to the method of curing the vats that the wine is stored and aged in.  Here again is the old adage you get what you pay for.

countries-drink-red-wineThere are many countries that include wines with every meal.  I have a friend in Denmark who even has wine with her pancakes.  I was told that they do this every day as they have found a small glass of wine with every meal has many great benefits.

While wine with every meal is not a custom here, there are many benefits to be considered in using a little wine consumption to aid you in living a healthier life.
